AAMAN's Juneteenth Celebration is being held on Sunday, June 19, 2022 at the OMNI Center in Onalaska, Wisconsin from 11:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. It's free and open to the public and Donations are accepted.
Juneteenth is the oldest nationally celebrated commemoration of the ending of slavery in the United States. From its Galveston, Texas origin in 1865, the observance of June 19th as the African American Emancipation Day has spread across the United States and beyond.
AAMAN will be in need of many volunteers between 8a.m. and 5p.m. on Sunday, June 19, 2022 at the OMNI Center in Onalaska, Wisconsin. Volunteers will:
- Greet attendees
- Assist Presenters with their table setup and take-down
- Post 4 small Juneteenth lawn signs and collect at end of event
- Assist attendees with locating restrooms and the concession stand
- Volunteer reports to Valjean and Cecil Adams
- Volunteer is encouraged to provide input and suggestions
- Volunteers will receive a free lunch
