UWL Food Recovery Network was started Fall semester of 2017 and has since donated over 5000 pounds of food to Hunger Task Force. Our mission is to Feed People, Not Landfills.
We recover excess food from Whitney Dining Center on the UWL campus and donate it to Hunger Task Force, which in turn serves the hungry of the La Crosse Community. We seek to reduce food waste ensuring a more sustainable environment that provides for the needs of the less fortunate rather than falling into a culture of excess and disposal.
