SEMCAC Houston County Food Shelf

The Houston County Food Shelf and Contact Center is under the umbrella of SEMCAC, which is based in Rushford, MN and is a community action organization serving 7 counties in SE Minnesota. The range of services offered does vary somewhat from county to county, but typically includes food support, energy assistance, car repairs, transportation to medical appointments and homeless prevention.

We rely heavily on volunteers of all ages. Many of our volunteers maintain a regular weekly schedule and assist with stocking the food shelf, manning the Welcome Desk, and checking in daily customers at the food shelf. We have volunteers who assist once a week with unloading our truck from Channel One Food Bank as well as others who assist as needed with food drives and special events. We could not survive without our dedicated volunteers!
