The STAR Association offers multiple adaptive recreation, para sports, and specialized exercise  activities for a variety of individuals with disabilities or impairment to physical activity. STAR has a need for mentors for our athletes, help running drills, and assistance in preparing and storing equipment for sessions.  Volunteers will participate in the activities. No prior experience with adaptive sports, specialized exercise, or working with individuals with disabilities. We will train you.

Programs run at Central High School on Sunday's and at the STAR Center (1011 La Crosse St) on the weekdays.

Volunteers assist with loading/unloading vehicles, sorting, cleaning, checking in of items, and other warehouse projects. Currently we're looking for volunteers to assist in the mornings of Mondays, and/or Thursdays from 9am until 12pm as well as volunteers for on-call Monday to Friday from 9am until 12pm. On-Call volunteers would be periodically for when our regular volunteers during that shift will be gone.

We would love a card player (or a group of card playing friends) to help out residents with game play or fill in as players when needed. Card Club meets every Wednesday morning at 10:00 am - 11:15 am. Do you love to garden? Aptiv is seeking volunteers to assist in planting, weeding and harvesting for the area Community Garden at Aptiv. This garden is open to the community and was placed in partnership with the City of La Crosse to provide fresh produce to the surrounding community. Volunteers who may not have space to garden at their own home can come and help out and make great connections with others who love gardening. Active gardening happens from April through October.

SUMMER 2025 MOWING SEASON - La Crescent Seniors Need You!

You (or your team of volunteers) are matched with a senior in La Crescent to "adopt" their lawn for the mowing season. This includes mowing once every week or so - more when it's growing fast, and often fewer than 2 x per month during late July/August. Times are flexible based on your schedule and mowing generally takes less than an hour to complete. Often this volunteer experience includes being a friendly visitor for the senior as well. This is a great opportunity to get quality volunteer experience, engage with others, and make a big difference for our older community members! (plus, free exercise in the process!)

Volunteers perform a variety of tasks; sorting, stocking, repackaging, receiving deliveries, general maintenance, working one on one with clients, assembling food packages, assisting patrons during shopping, and more. Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays.

The Thrift Store serves a dual role in our mission.  People in need can get vouchers to get the items that they need, whether it be clothes, shoes or items to help set up their new home.  When items sell to the public, that money goes back into our mission to feed and shelter individuals in need. 

Many hands make light work.  We get loads of donations in every single day at The Salvation Army Thrift Store.  We need lots of help to get through them and make them ready for the sales floor. Help sort and organize, clear out and reshelve items, clean, and hang out with a great staff team! Opportunities are flexible during these times, Monday–Friday, 9am-6pm or Saturday, 9am-5pm.

 You can choose your volunteer dates and times! After an approved application, you can volunteer whenever you'd like, no scheduling needed. Thanks for your help!

Our shelter meal program provides 3 meals a day to our residents in house, as well as a canteen window option for community members! Help us serve meals to our residents!

The Friends of Wildcat Mountain State Park are seeking individuals with marketing, tech, data and computer skills to assist us with park promotions and projects including the following:

Got spring fever?  Get out and help us protect the pretty wildflowers at Wildcat Mountain State Park by assisting with surveillance and removal of invasive species like this garlic mustard plant growing next to a beautiful bloodroot flower.  This effort will start as soon as the snow melts and continue into early June.  No experience is needed, just a willingness to learn, hike in some beautiful natural areas and pay close attention to the plants as spring emerges around you.  Times are flexible.  You will need to be prepared to hike off trail.

We are looking for nonprofit groups who are willing to help with our set-up and take-down process.

Our set-up usually occurs from October 15 through the day before Thanksgiving.

The Aging & Disability Resource Center is looking for volunteers at our La Crosse meal sites to help package meals, serve meals and also deliver noon meals to elderly in our community. Routes needed are North La Crosse, French Island and southside of La Crosse. 

Delivery shifts range from 10:15am-12pm and routes average 10 miles. (usually take around 1 hour) By becoming a volunteer of our home delivered meal program you deliver more than just a hot meal. It is also a welfare check on our seniors. 

We have a variety of days and locations available in La Crosse. Flexible schedule and mileage reimbursement available. 

If you prefer not to deliver meals, we are also in need of volunteers to help package the meals for our homebound participants at the meal sites. 

Currently we are in need at Holmen meal sites.  Shift range from 10am until 12:30pm for onsite help and 11am-11:45am for delivering the meals.   

Deliver more than just a warm meal! The Aging & Disability Resource Center of La Crosse County is looking for volunteers to deliver meals to seniors. Shifts/routes are currently available at our County building (4th & Vine) and the Southside Neighborhood Center (6th & Hood St). Each route takes approximately 1 hr to deliver; roughly 10:15am to 11:30am and average 10 miles (mileage reimbursement available).

**Looking for ongoing commitment however flexible with schedule. For example, you may sign up to deliver 1-2 days a week, every other week (i.e., every 1st/3rd Monday of month) or once a month (i.e., every 2nd Thursday of the month). 

Welcoming students, retirees or families.  Proof of auto insurance required for mileage reimbursement.  A rewarding experience to help our elders in need. 

We are looking for volunteers to assist our Recreation Therapy Department with afternoon programs on Saturdays and Sundays throughout the month. Volunteers are not required to do every afternoon program that is scheduled but can choose which dates work best for them. These programs take place from 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm for both the Saturday and Sunday availabilities. Dates throughout the month do very and do not take place every Saturday and Sunday. A short orientation process is required before volunteering can begin.

Our Recreation Therapy Department is looking for volunteers Monday through Friday from 6:00 pm to 7:30 pm. During your volunteer time you would be assisting RT Staff with carrying out a program such as bingo, dice game, discussion games and more. You will also be helping transport residents to and from the programs and help with clean up afterwards.

We are looking for someone to help with kids during our support groups on Monday night from 6pm-8pm and Tuesday night from 6pm-8pm. You would be hanging out with the kids while the parents attend a support group.

We are actively seeking volunteers of all ages who want to help horses with their general care. This could mean grooming, feeding, and TLC.

We are looking for volunteers to help with daily activities and to visit and interact with our senior residents @ Eagle Crest South. Tasks may include 1:1 visits with residents, helping with crafts, games, gardening, large parties/events, help to gather residents to-and-from entertainment, technology help, cleaning or organizing storage rooms, and other miscellaneous "busy work". Hours of service can range anytime between 8am-7pm depending on your availability.

The Kids and Mentors Outdoors (KAMO) group conducts activities year around for children ad their families. 

Recent activities have included trips to the Best Dam Fishing Float, silhouette range at the rod and gun. We can often use assistance on these adventures.

In this Agreement, the party who is contracting to receive the services shall be referred to as "AAMAN", and the party who will be providing the services shall be referred to as "Contractor".

1. DESCRIPTION OF SERVICES. The Contractor will provide the following services (collectively, the "Services"): Data Processing. The Contractor can use their email address to send the Data or by creating the following email address: "deductions@gmail.com." The Contractor shall process Real Estate and Vehicle Promotional Emails as described in the Independent Contractor’s Personal Records; a minimum of 50 emails daily, and Bcc each email you send to: aaman@aaman.co.

1a. From the Data Spread Sheets; Real Estate and/or Vehicle Companies sent to you by AAMAN, you are to post; when you compose the Promotional Emails, the owner’s email address, the owner’s full name, and in the “Subject” box; post, “Tax Deduction.”

2. PAYMENT FOR SERVICES. AAMAN will pay compensation to Contractor for the Services based on 2 hours per-day at 5 days per-week at $10.00 per hour; for 4 weeks totaling $400.00 per month. Paid twice per month on the 1st and 15th.

3. TERM/TERMINATION. This Agreement may be terminated by either party upon 10 days written notice to the other party.

4. RELATIONSHIP OF PARTIES. It is understood by the parties that the Contractor is an Independent Contractor with respect to AAMAN, and not an employee of AAMAN. AAMAN will not provide fringe benefits, including health insurance benefits, paid vacation, or any other employee benefit, for the benefit of the Contractor.

5. CONFIDENTIALITY. Contractor will not at any time or in any manner, either directly or indirectly, use for their personal benefit or divulge, disclose, or communicate in any manner any information that is the proprietary to AAMAN. This provision shall continue to be effective after the termination of this Agreement. Upon termination of this Agreement, Contractor will return to AAMAN all records, notes, documentation and other items that were used, and created.

6. INJURIES. AAMAN acknowledges Contractor's obligation to obtain appropriate insurance and waives any rights to recovery from AAMAN for any injuries that Contractor may incur.

7. INDEMNIFICATION. Contractor agrees to indemnify and hold harmless AAMAN from all claims, losses, expenses, fees including attorney fees, costs, and judgments that may be asserted against AAMAN that result from the acts or omissions of the Contractor.

8. ENTIRE AGREEMENT. This Agreement contains the entire agreement of the parties, and there are no other promises or conditions in any other agreement whether oral or written.

9. SEVERABILITY. If any provision of this Agreement shall be held to be invalid or unenforceable for any reason, the remaining provisions shall continue to be valid and enforceable. If a court finds that any provision of this Agreement is invalid or unenforceable, but that by limiting such provision it would become valid and enforceable, then such provision shall be deemed to be written, construed, and enforced as so limited.

10. APPLICABLE LAW. This Agreement shall be governed by the laws of the State of Wisconsin.

As a neighborhood we maintain several small gardens in public spaces (roundabouts, street intersections, Crowley Park).  Volunteers are needed on an on-going as-needed basis to work independently or with a group of neighbors to water, weed and generally keep the gardens beautiful and thriving.  Funds for supplies are available upon approval by GENA.

We have an exceptional group of Senior Citizens and people with disabilities. They love to interact with people and share in talents and interests. We're looking for people who interact well with others and would be interested in leading activities. These activities can range anywhere from interactive music, arts and craft, games, gardening, and phone/computer instruction. You name it. If you have an area of interest or hobbies that you'd like to share, we can help create an activity around it. Our tenants are enthusiastic and grateful for time spent in activities.

Civil Air Patrol boasts the largest Small Unmanned Aerial Systems (sUAS) program in the United States.

The Civil Air Patrol maintains ground search teams for deployment in search and rescue missions. These teams search for missing persons, overdue aircraft, lost boaters, and more. Team members must become full Civil Air Patrol members and go through required background checks, orientation, and training.

Grant writing is something that we are more thoroughly exploring in an effort to ensure short-term and long-term longevity for our organization. We could use oversight in searching for, writing, researching about, and editing grant submissions. 

In need of various support persons to assist with office support, supervision of children, event support, and organizing & cleaning. 

We have minor to major tree trimming needing to be completed within the park. We planted 70 new trees last year that may also need some attention.  

To repair odds n ends around the club.   

We have a number of picnic tables that need painting. Some are older and need scraping. Others have been seasoning for 1 year and need a new and first coat of paint.  We also have a small deck attached to what we call the green cabin.

Coulee Connections has openings for part-time Student Coaches for employment as well as volunteers. Student Coaches work directly with at-risk youth in Summer Program and Alternative Education programs while providing youth with support academically, emotionally and behaviorally. Student Coaches will be responsible for creating positive relationships and maintaining structure in group and individual settings.

Western Dairyland's Housing Services is currently searching for home furnishings and basic living donations for our upcoming new clients.

These items can include furniture, small appliances, cleaning supplies, and any other common household items. 

When donating items, especially beds and cloth furniture, please make sure they do not have bed bugs and that the item is in useable condition.

 If you would like to donate, you can arrange a time to bring in donations with our volunteer coordinator, Brooke Frion. If they are furniture items they will need to be dropped off at one of our storage units, as we do not have a truck to move these items.

 All donations could benefit you during taxes, as we are a non-profit business.

OASIS Respite Program serves individuals in the beginning to middle stages of a dementia, Alzheimer's Disease or other brain related diagnosis.  It is the first program of its kind serving La Crosse, Holmen, Onalaska, La Crescent, Winona, West Salem, Sparta, and the Coulee Region!

Hours are Monday- Thursday, 9:00 a.m.-1:30 p.m. Previous experience in related areas of food preparation, valid driver’s license and work with the aging persons preferred. Examples of duties include meal service, equipment set-up, preparation of food and food transport, meal ordering, organization of volunteer staff, maintenance of food quality, bookkeeping, attendance at meeting and training sessions, and transport of individuals for medical and personal business.

Meal Site volunteers are needed to help serve community seniors at one of our 5 congregate senior dining centers in the county. Volunteers also assist with participant registration and packing home delivered meals.

Volunteer Escort drivers needed to help serve the elderly and disabled population to medical appointments, personal shopping, groceries, socialization and recreation opportunities and employment.  

Grace House, our transitional shelter for women and children, is looking for qualified volunteers to join our mission in helping families. 

The volunteer role would be ideal for social work, nursing, psychology, child advocacy, and child education students and grads or anyone who has experience in any of the mentioned areas, however not necessary as training is provided. 

Volunteers would be required to pass a background check, attend ongoing training, and ideally, commit to a minimum of two shifts per month.

 (Typically 4 hours each) 

Ideal applicants will have a passion for helping families, be empathetic, dependable, have excellent communication skills, and understand and practice confidentiality. 

Volunteers will help families by modeling positive social interactions and parenting skills, budgeting, healthy lifestyle skills, cooking and nutrition, resume writing, and employment related skills. 

Training will include trauma informed mentoring, ACES, First Aid/CPR, and poverty awareness.

We’re preparing for some limited in-person services, with pandemic safety precautions in place. Our Playroom Child Care Staff (age 18 or over please) will work an evening now and then (usually 6-8 pm) to watch children in our playroom while their parents attend programming. Volunteers will have the opportunity to assist in activities such as table games, reading groups, musical programming, exercise groups, painting nails, and much more! We also always need assistance with sanitizing supplies/materials or prepping activities in the Recreation Therapy office.

We require all volunteers to do a short orientation, have a recent TB test(can be done at our facility), and a background check.  Since we require these things to be done, we prefer our volunteers to at least have a time commitment of around 3 months or equivalent in the frequency of your hours to make it worth your time and ours.  Come have fun with older adults! Every day is a new adventure! :)

Mulder Health Care Facility is looking for volunteers to express their beautiful musical talents for our residents.  Our residents love to listen to music of "the good old days" or even simply listen to piano. If you need help with music selection, we can assist you with song selection as well.

Lakeview Health Center provides specialized long term care and rehabilitation for adults with various mental, cognitive and health related challenges. Volunteers are needed to assist staff with programs or to engage residents in one to one activities. Volunteer hours are flexible with varied opportunities to fit your needs.

Need someone to evaluate our IT needs, make recommendations for hardware & software & security. All on a volunteer basis.

The Place of Grace hosts meals on a regular basis.  Volunteers will get to prepare meals for guests, serve meals to guests, display hospitality to guests, and help clean up after the meals.  

Our greatest needs are Tuesday from 9a-1pm and Thursdays from 5-6:30pm.

Assisting in preparing, cooking, and cleaning up from meals for children at camp.

This position will include working along side our Director to promote the Center, compile our business directory, help create fundraisers, etc.

Advocates are WANTED and NEEDED in nursing homes! You can be qualified as a representative of the Board on Aging & Long Term Care in the role of a Volunteer Ombudsman. You can make a difference in the lives of people living in area nursing homes.

Fresh Start is always looking for people to speak to the Fresh Start youth about their career! As part of our career development initiative, we try to introduce our participants to different career paths that they might be interested in pursuing. During these presentations we typically discuss the schooling one would need for this career, job opportunities and outlook, pros and cons of the career, and anything of the sort. This program is based out of our Eau Claire office. Any help you can provide would be appreciated.

A Snow Saint is a volunteer who will shovel or treat sidewalk, driveway within 24 hours of a winter event.  We match volunteers with a person who needs help keeping snow or ice clear of walkways. 

Time frame is winter until spring 2017-2018 in La Crosse, Onalaska, Holmen, French Island, West Salem
