Deliver more than just a warm meal! The Aging & Disability Resource Center of La Crosse County is looking for volunteers to deliver meals to seniors. Shifts/routes are currently available at our County building (4th & Vine) and the Southside Neighborhood Center (6th & Hood St). Each route takes approximately 30minutes to 1 hr to deliver; roughly 10:15am to 11:30am and average 10 miles (mileage reimbursement available).

**Looking for ongoing commitment however flexible with schedule. For example, you may sign up to deliver 1-2 days a week, every other week (i.e., every 1st/3rd Monday of month) or once a month (i.e., every 2nd Thursday of the month).

Board Member Responsibilities

The Aging & Disability Resource Center is looking for volunteers at our La Crosse meal sites to help package meals, serve meals and also deliver noon meals to elderly in our community. Routes needed are North La Crosse, French Island and southside of La Crosse. 

Delivery shifts range from 10:15am-12pm and routes average 10 miles. (usually take around 1 hour) By becoming a volunteer of our home delivered meal program you deliver more than just a hot meal. It is also a welfare check on our seniors. 

We have a variety of days and locations available in La Crosse. Flexible schedule and mileage reimbursement available. 

If you prefer not to deliver meals, we are also in need of volunteers to help package the meals for our homebound participants at the meal sites. 

Currently we are in need at Holmen meal sites.  Shift range from 10am until 12:30pm for onsite help and 11am-11:45am for delivering the meals.   

We are looking for volunteers to assist our Recreation Therapy Department with afternoon programs on Saturdays and Sundays throughout the month. Volunteers are not required to do every afternoon program that is scheduled but can choose which dates work best for them. Everybody Bikes UA is seeking volunteers who are willing to help refurbish donated bikes that are awarded to community-members after a brief training. We can work around your schedule.

INTERNSHIP DESCRIPTION:

Gain hands-on experience in promoting health to students and parents in the community by helping coordinate and assist school garden education sessions and recipe demonstrations at local elementary schools. We are looking for 3-4 interns for this upcoming semester. Together with the GROW board, other interns, and volunteers you will lead an essential role in providing community nutrition education, along with assisting our program directors in garden education sessions and recipe demonstration, interns will also enhance their experiences when coordinating volunteers, overseeing garden maintenance, building relationships, evaluating programs, documenting, and community organizing.

TIME COMMITMENT:

Approximately 6-8 hrs/wk totaling a minimum of 90 hours for the semester. Some interns have taken this as an independent study and received credit. Nutrition programming and meetings can be planned around intern’s schedule as long as 5 hours a week are during elementary school hours (8am-3pm). Other requirements can be done throughout each week as you have time.

REQUIREMENTS:

Nutrition/Sustainability Education Interns will be responsible for assisting the program directors with garden classes, helping facilitate garden maintenance tasks and organization of produce getting from garden to cafeteria or classroom, and assisting with volunteer coordination; in addition to weekly meetings with your supervisor.

QUALIFICATIONS:

We are looking for someone who can work independently and as part of a team, is comfortable working with children, has experience coordinating and working with volunteers, and the ability to get from their house to each school - the furthest one is 3.5 miles from UWL campus. CASA for Kids is solely focused on advocating for a child's best interest throughout the duration of their CHIPS (Child in Need of Protection & Services) case. Majority of the time, the child has already been placed out of home. Our advocates are trained and vetted before being sworn in as an Officer of the Court. Once their case assignment begins, they maintain a positive and consistent presence in the child's life. Their visits and observations are recorded and presented to the judge in an accurate and objective court report. All the while, gauging the child's best interest, needs, wants, additional resources/supports, providing insight and recommendations.

We are looking for volunteers to help with daily activities and to visit and interact with our senior residents @ Eagle Crest South. Tasks may include 1:1 visits with residents, helping with crafts, games, gardening, large parties/events, help to gather residents to-and-from entertainment, technology help, cleaning or organizing storage rooms, and other miscellaneous "busy work". Hours of service can range anytime between 8am-7pm depending on your availability.

The Kids and Mentors Outdoors (KAMO) group conducts activities year around for children ad their families. 

Recent activities have included trips to the Best Dam Fishing Float, silhouette range at the rod and gun. We can often use assistance on these adventures.

In this Agreement, the party who is contracting to receive the services shall be referred to as "AAMAN", and the party who will be providing the services shall be referred to as "Contractor".

1. DESCRIPTION OF SERVICES. The Contractor will provide the following services (collectively, the "Services"): Data Processing. The Contractor can use their email address to send the Data or by creating the following email address: "deductions@gmail.com." The Contractor shall process Real Estate and Vehicle Promotional Emails as described in the Independent Contractor’s Personal Records; a minimum of 50 emails daily, and Bcc each email you send to: aaman@aaman.co.

1a. From the Data Spread Sheets; Real Estate and/or Vehicle Companies sent to you by AAMAN, you are to post; when you compose the Promotional Emails, the owner’s email address, the owner’s full name, and in the “Subject” box; post, “Tax Deduction.”

2. PAYMENT FOR SERVICES. AAMAN will pay compensation to Contractor for the Services based on 2 hours per-day at 5 days per-week at $10.00 per hour; for 4 weeks totaling $400.00 per month. Paid twice per month on the 1st and 15th.

3. TERM/TERMINATION. This Agreement may be terminated by either party upon 10 days written notice to the other party.

4. RELATIONSHIP OF PARTIES. It is understood by the parties that the Contractor is an Independent Contractor with respect to AAMAN, and not an employee of AAMAN. AAMAN will not provide fringe benefits, including health insurance benefits, paid vacation, or any other employee benefit, for the benefit of the Contractor.

5. CONFIDENTIALITY. Contractor will not at any time or in any manner, either directly or indirectly, use for their personal benefit or divulge, disclose, or communicate in any manner any information that is the proprietary to AAMAN. This provision shall continue to be effective after the termination of this Agreement. Upon termination of this Agreement, Contractor will return to AAMAN all records, notes, documentation and other items that were used, and created.

6. INJURIES. AAMAN acknowledges Contractor's obligation to obtain appropriate insurance and waives any rights to recovery from AAMAN for any injuries that Contractor may incur.

7. INDEMNIFICATION. Contractor agrees to indemnify and hold harmless AAMAN from all claims, losses, expenses, fees including attorney fees, costs, and judgments that may be asserted against AAMAN that result from the acts or omissions of the Contractor.

8. ENTIRE AGREEMENT. This Agreement contains the entire agreement of the parties, and there are no other promises or conditions in any other agreement whether oral or written.

9. SEVERABILITY. If any provision of this Agreement shall be held to be invalid or unenforceable for any reason, the remaining provisions shall continue to be valid and enforceable. If a court finds that any provision of this Agreement is invalid or unenforceable, but that by limiting such provision it would become valid and enforceable, then such provision shall be deemed to be written, construed, and enforced as so limited.

10. APPLICABLE LAW. This Agreement shall be governed by the laws of the State of Wisconsin.

As a neighborhood we maintain several small gardens in public spaces (roundabouts, street intersections, Crowley Park).  Volunteers are needed on an on-going as-needed basis to work independently or with a group of neighbors to water, weed and generally keep the gardens beautiful and thriving.  Funds for supplies are available upon approval by GENA.

We have an exceptional group of Senior Citizens and people with disabilities. They love to interact with people and share in talents and interests. We're looking for people who interact well with others and would be interested in leading activities. These activities can range anywhere from interactive music, arts and craft, games, gardening, and phone/computer instruction. You name it. If you have an area of interest or hobbies that you'd like to share, we can help create an activity around it. Our tenants are enthusiastic and grateful for time spent in activities.

LCHS provides step-on guides for the cruise boat bus tours that run from July through mid-October. We also provide step-on guides for private bus tours that visit La Crosse throughout the year. Tour obligations range from one hour to up to full mornings or full afternoons, depending on the type of tour. Tour content is generally about the history and culture of La Crosse and the region, and training is provided.

WHAT? Volunteer in an elementary classroom in the Coulee Region.  We currently run elementary JA programming in La Crosse, Onalaska, Holmen, West Salem, La Crescent, Bangor and Tomah. Elementary programs consist of five 45-minute lessons. 

HOW DOES IT WORK? We take care of everything!  We provide a virtual volunteer training and then we match you with a teacher in the Coulee Region (you can indicate a preference for grade, area or school) and allow you to work with them to determine a schedule that works well for both.  Volunteers are provided with well-appointed kits and/or digital resources that are used to teach each lesson. The best part is our lessons are connected to each grade levels curriculum!  

WHY VOLUNTEER FOR JUNIOR ACHIEVEMENT (JA)? Junior Achievement’s mission is to inspire and prepare young people to succeed. By volunteering for Junior Achievement YOU have the opportunity to be their inspiration! This opportunities gives prospective Social Work and Human Service students a chance to prepare for real-world work in the field and current social workers a chance to broaden or reinforce their experience. Volunteers in this role will: Review clients SDoH Identify any social needs and provide local resources. Ask patients about any unanswered questions on SDoH. Review the patient's phone number and address, update any changes. Review patients' income and compare to Badgercare eligibility. If a patient qualifies for Badgercare, refer to a Community Health Worker to assist in the application process. If a patient is over the income eligibility, they may be referred to Scenic Bluffs ``Help Team” to sign up for MarketPlace. Before completing the visit get a copy of the patient's ID and proof of income. If a patient does not have any of the verification documents, ask that they bring them for their following visit. Remind patients that they should update St. Clare Health Mission of any changes to their income.

Empower parents and prevent youth substance use. Provide guided tours for adults through our mock teen's bedroom with over 50 red flags of alcohol, tobacco and other drug use. 1 hour training, can start and end anytime between 4:00 and 6:00 pm on Oct. 13th.  at the Clean Slate Center, 2635 Hemstock St., La Crosse  Can also re-schedule for a group of 2 or more.

Civil Air Patrol boasts the largest Small Unmanned Aerial Systems (sUAS) program in the United States.

The Civil Air Patrol maintains ground search teams for deployment in search and rescue missions. These teams search for missing persons, overdue aircraft, lost boaters, and more. Team members must become full Civil Air Patrol members and go through required background checks, orientation, and training.

The Civil Air Patrol is in need of qualified private pilots who are willing to help teach CAP cadets how to fly. 

On a monthly basis our squadron conduct fitness training for our cadets. We like to rotate this training through different experiences and opportunities. We are always looking for volunteers who would like to come in and instruct on some type of fitness, healthy eating, or exercise topic. Ideally the fitness and exercise topics involve a physical component as well where cadets actually do the activity. In the past we've done yoga, flag football, soccer, and more.

Instruction occurs on Monday evenings between 6:30pm and 8:30pm. 

The Civil Air Patrol is in need of qualified private pilots who are willing to help cadets experience aviation first hand. 

 We are a volunteer group in West Salem, WI that provides EMS coverage for the Village of West Salem, Town of Barre, and Town of Hamilton. We have been providing this service since 1986.  We respond to medical calls as needed, when paged out, 24/7/365. We average about 1.5 calls/day.

We are looking for volunteers that are in the medical field, who would be interested in getting volunteer hours while helping the community.  If you are certified as a first responder, EMT, paramedic, nurse, doctor, or any similar license we want you to join our team!  This is a great way to get some hands on experience and see what the real world has to offer and gets you that experience you need for your career path.  

If you do not have any certifications, you are still able to do our ride along program.  This involves riding along to the calls, and observing what we do, but you would not be able to be hands on. This is a good way to find out if this field is for you.

There is no set schedule to follow.  You are able to put yourself on call, when you are able.  All we ask is you try and put in 48 hours a month.

Responding to an emergency medical call requires a fast response.  Because of this, you would be required to be in West Salem so you can get to the station in a timely manner.  We do offer college students the ability to spend the day/night at the station.  A great time to get homework and studying done.  We have a full bathroom, and even a washing machine and dryer.
