Volunteer: Help Unload Food Donations After Rotary Lights Food DriveDate: Sunday, December 21 Each year, Rotary Lights collects hundreds of pounds of food donations for local organizations - and we need your help to bring those donations into our shelter! We're looking for volunteers to help unload boxes of food from the delivery truck and carry them into the basement of our shelter. This work helps stock our pantry and ensures that families in crisis have access to nutritious meals throughout the year. Details: Volunteers will meet at New Horizons Shelter after the food drive ends (around 10:45PM).Tasks include unloading and carrying boxes of food (boxes can weight 15-20 lbs each) down a flight of stairs.Must be able to lift and carry moderate weight safely.Great opportunity for individuals or small groups!Your time and energy will make a direct impact in supporting survivors and their families. The purpose of our Red Kettle Campaign is to create awareness about The Salvation Army and how we support the most vulnerable in our community. When the community supports this campaign, we can continue serving those in need through our programs and services. Between our shelter, meal programs, shelter advocacy, case management, and more - we are able to show up for those who need us and provide hope for better days ahead. This is a fun event for your group, please feel free to wear your group apparel, play holiday music or wear Christmas outfit (think ugly sweaters) etc. This is why all activities of the season are so important!
