Volunteer: Mentors Needed!General Description: The general responsibilities of the tutors are to provide a fun learning atmosphere for children in grades 5 thru 8. Must be able to or at least be open to working with children as you will be assisting them in Sports (coaching, skills leading, instruction) & Trauma Relationship Coaching (social-emotional learning) and various other activities. Complete the program specifics for Trauma Relationship Coaching.
Specific Duties: 1. Provide academic, social, and emotional assistance to students as needed. 2. Help students develop positive attitudes toward learning and studying. 3. Serve as a role model, establish and maintain rapport with the assigned student(s). 4. Help students develop a high level of motivation in academic areas. 5. Safely transport students to and from school and practice site as necessary. (Driver’s License required)
General Requirements: 1. Be apart of certification training for Trauma Relationship Coaches. 2. Confidentiality is a must! 3. Must be courteous, pleasant, prompt, reliable, and well organized. 4. Must be able to create a positive and effective working relationship with younger students. 5. Must be able to work between the hours of 4pm-8pm or/and flexible hours (during tournament days). 6. Tutors must provide their own transportation.
