Volunteer: Grace House Transitional Shelter VolunteersGrace House, our transitional shelter for women and children, is looking for qualified volunteers to join our mission in helping families. The volunteer role would be ideal for social work, nursing, psychology, child advocacy, and child education students and grads or anyone who has experience in any of the mentioned areas, however not necessary as training is provided. Volunteers would be required to pass a background check, attend ongoing training, and commit to a minimum of two shifts per month. (Typically 4 hours each) Ideal applicants will have a passion for helping families, be empathetic, dependable, have excellent communication skills, and understand and practice confidentiality. Volunteers will help families by modeling positive social interactions and parenting skills, budgeting, healthy lifestyle skills, cooking and nutrition, resume writing, and employment related skills.
